Academic Prowess
Ole Miss produced its 25th Rhodes Scholar in 2008. Since 1998, UM students have earned two Rhodes, six Truman, eight Goldwater, one Udall, one Gates Cambridge and six Fulbright scholarships. Of the 23 major national scholarship recipients UM has produced since 2000, 21 were graduates of the College of Liberal Arts.

UM's undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs in accountancy are ranked in the nation's top 20 (Public Accounting Report, Nov. 2008). Master of Accountancy and Master of Taxation programs lay claim to 100 percent placement of their graduates.

Over the past five years, every student who has graduated from the professional pharmacy program has had at least one job offer. Additionally, in four of the past seven years, 100 percent of Doctor of Pharmacy graduates have passed the licensure exam on the first try.

Natural Products Excellence
The FDA and several research institutions around the globe have partnered with UM's National Center for Natural Products Research to help develop standards of identity and purity for botanical dietary supplements. The standards are crucial to ensuring that the millions of dietary supplements people take daily are safe.

Nationally Ranked School of Business Administration
The UM School of Business Administration significantly advanced in U.S. News & World Report’s latest annual ranking of nearly 1,800 undergraduate business programs in the nation. The UM business school ranks No. 83. The recognition places Ole Miss squarely in the top 5 percent of prestigious four-year institutions, including University of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California at Berkeley, and Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, Dartmouth, Columbia and Yale universities.

National Center for Physical Acoustics
The NCPA maintains basic and applied research programs in many areas of physical acoustics; provides coordination of major, multi-university research programs in the United States; serves as an advocate for physical acoustics to federal agencies and other organizations; provides significant educational opportunities for students and postdocs; and provides direct research assistance to investigators throughout the world.

University of Mississippi School of Engineering
The oldest engineering school in the state, the Ole Miss School of Engineering is preparing students and supporting researchers in each of its six departments: chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer and information science, electrical engineering, geology/geological engineering and mechanical engineering. The school is undergoing a transformation with a new on-campus engineering complex that will include the state-of-the-art Center for Manufacturing Excellence.

Center for Manufacturing Excellence
The CME is a center unique in its educational focus on undergraduate interdisciplinary manufacturing education. The CME brings together the Schools of Accountancy, Business Administration, and Engineering to provide students the professional skills involved in successful manufacturing along with an understanding of accounting, communication, human resources, leadership, management, and marketing. The CME Advisory Board includes executives from Toyota's nearby plant and other manufacturing companies and industry experts to ensure a close tie to industry. CME has additive manufacturing (3D printing) capabilities. The CME's building is equipped with a solar power array and other sustainable features.

Technology Transfer
The University of Mississippi has a robust patent portfolio and has linked with companies to commercialize products in healthcare, IT, sensor/security, and other fields.
